How to use

Tulsi (Holy Basil) can be used both as a culinary herb to season food and a herbal infusion (tea).

1. Use Tulsi (Holy Basil) to flavour dishes like pulses, grains, salads and stews.
2. Experiment! Mix with other Aja & Nova Organic herbs to find out what works best for you!

To make a tea:
1. Use a ratio of 1-2 tsp (1-2g) of Tulsi (Holy Basil) to 1 cup (250ml) of water.
2. Boil the water using a kettle or pot.
3. Add herbs to a teapot then add boiled water or add herbs to a pot of boiled water (heat switched off).
4. Cover and allow to sit for 3 – 5 mins then strain and serve.
5. You can add citrus and natural sweeteners for extra flavour, we do not recommend using sugar.

Nutritional information/uses

Herbalists may recommend Tulsi for:

Diabetes or to reduce blood sugar. Early research suggests that a holy basil leaf extract might decrease blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.

Tulsi has been shown to affect a type of persistent anxiety marked by exaggerated worry and tension (generalized anxiety disorder or GAD). Early research suggests that taking holy basil leaf extract twice daily after meals reduces anxiety, stress, and depression in people with GAD.
